Pendant Nos M.93 (on coming into service), MI.53 (1.18), MI.31 (4.18). Built 1912, 15,044grt, 16kts. Armament: 6-6in, 2-6pdr. Crew (7.15): 39 officers & 220 crew (bi). In service 23.3.15-1.6.20. Of over 60 commissioned AMC's employed on patrol and later convoy protection, 33 served with 10th CS on Northern Patrol. (British Warships 1914-1919)

1.30pm: Cutter hanging astern broke adrift. Lowered quarter boat to pick it up. Boat reached cutter but wind and sea was too much for it and after 45 minutes cutter drove ashore - boat with men being towed back by Russian Steamer Nicolo. Cutter contained diving gear.

5.30pm: Party in motor boat left to recover cutter ashore.

6.30pm: Motor boat returned with cutter in tow.

3.30am: Ordered Arctic prince to break up ice on port bow to allow diver to work.

4.30am: Arctic Prince breaking ice.

6.15am: Hands clearing cables. Diver working at cable.

7.55am: Ordered steam for full speed.

8.55am: Stand by engines.

9.50am: Arctic Prince took tow rope from port quarter. Windlass broken down.

10.30am: "Simerson" took tow-rope on starboard bow to clear port anchor.

11.00am: Buoyed port anchor and exploded charge, breaking cable. Hove in cable & proceeded.

11.50am: Passed through entrance, making way through soft ice. Took cable (3 lengths) from port windlass and shackled it to cable on starboard anchor. About 4 fathoms of 2 1/4" cable lost (severed in explosion.)

1.14pm: Vessel brought up in ice. Stopped engines.

1.25pm: Attempted to turn ship without success. Plate in lower edge started and adrift from hull.

3.30pm: Intrepid came astern and put towing wire aboard.

3.50pm: All fast - being towed stern first and assisting with engines. Ice about 5 inches thick. No change in bilge soundings.

4.10pm: Satko N 52 W.

5.40pm: Fairlead on Intrepid carried away. Stopped towing.

6.10pm: Intrepid let go towing wire and proceeded to assistance of trawlers fast in ice. Hove in towing wire.

7.30pm: No appreciable change in soundings.

8.00pm: Making starboard, following S.N.O.'s vessel

10.50pm: Reduced speed owing to hot bearings in star'board engine.
