which both were sunk for the loss of five escorted
mercantiles including three
Tankers
(Note: U 99 was commanded by Otto Kretschmer
and U 100 by Joachim Schepke both of
whom were successful U-Boat commanders with many sinkings.
These
two U-Boat sinkings were credited to HMS VANOC and
HMS WALKER.
