A-class patrol submarine. Laid down 26 August 1944, launched 25 March 1947, 1,120 tons, 221' x 22 ' x 17', 18/8 knots, complement 61, armament 1 x 4in QF (later removed), 10 x 21in TT. Designed   for   operations   against   the   Japanese,   having   better   living accommodation than previous boats.
